Britain unveils fresh sanctions targeting Putin's allies.
The Foreign Office states that the sanctions target Putin's 'inner circle.
On Friday, Britain imposed sanctions on key figures within the Russian government, including Deputy Defence Minister Pavel Fradkov and Vladimir Selin, a senior official in the country's Ministry of Defence.
The Foreign Office also announced sanctions against Artem Chaika, whose extractives company supports Russian state-owned enterprises, as well as two entities linked to Russia’s nuclear energy giant, Rosatom.
According to the Foreign Office, those targeted have ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s "inner circle."
"I am announcing further sanctions to keep up the pressure on Putin," said Foreign Minister David Lammy. "Ukrainians are fighting for their country’s future and the principle of sovereignty across Europe at the frontline."
Russia’s embassy in London has not yet responded to a request for comment.
